(#2541) Sarah P (Acworth, GA)
7/6/2019 in Cartersville, GA  EVENT: Cartersville Study Group Monthly Speaker  TYPE: AA, Female, Story

Sober 4 years since 10/12/2014, married 8 times, her unwed mother was a 17 year old Catholic when Sarah was born and her father was Jewish. They were still in High School.

They planned to put her up for adoption but decided to get married 27 days after Sarah was born.

Sarah was mauled by a dog at age two and a half which severely damaged her face and jaw and caused some brain damage,

She was teased at school for her looks.

The first drunk she can remember was around age seven.

By fourteen she had a fake ID and was learning to shoot pool.

She became very good at it and would gravitate back to the pool rooms throughout her story,

She had three children but had not always been the best mother (she did communicate with all of them on the day of this talk).

Toward the end of her drinking she hooked up with some God seeking truckers and was attracted to what they had.

After getting sober, she shifted career from accounting to long haul trucking which she still does being the first woman at the school to pass on the first try for her CDL.

She has learned to face her fears and go through them without the use of drugs or alcohol.

Great story with lots of twists and turns.

Thank you, Sarah.
