Sober 15 years since 7/14/2008, Kristie had a promising future in competitive swimming until she had her first drink at age 15.
She traded all that for spending hours in her closet and four rehabs.
Her first three years in AA did not seem better, but she kept taking suggestions and got much more than she asked for.
The ability to graciously make living amends to her mother, who she had let down often since age 15, are part of what makes Kristie a grateful alcoholic today.
