Sober 35 years since 11/22/1987, Chip is married just a few years to the Al-Anon speaker at this event - Angie B.
He shares how they managed that after having known each other before then for some 14 years.
When he came into AA, he would ask his sponsor about family problems.
"There is a chapter called The Family Afterward. I suggest you read it."
"What about this God thing?", to which his sponsor replied, "They have a chapter called We Agnostics. I suggest you read it and then ask me questions."
He wondered when he became an alcoholic.
He realized he became alcoholic around the time he stopped bragging about how much he could drink, and began lying about how much he actually drank.
If you're not alcoholic, then staying sober will not bother you.
But he reminds us,
"The Steps were designed to heal not to hurt."
